We think it is important to support our local community. We do this by giving people a chance to gain experience and develop skills.

FAS Programmes

Community Employment

We operate Community Employment schemes in conjunction with FAS in the Kildare and Wicklow regions. Participants on the scheme gain experience by playing an active role in the organisation either by working directly in services for children and adults or in our support/administration services.

KARE/FAS Intellectual Disability Support Programme (Code– AT59A)

KARE in association with FÁS, have developed an Intellectual Disability Support Programme aimed at equipping participants with the competencies necessary to support a person with an intellectual disability to live the life they choose. The programme is 48 weeks long and commences in July of each year. Successful participants gain a FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Intellectual Disability Practice

Pre-School Child with Special Needs Course

We developed this Fetac Level 5 Course with funding and support from the Kildare County Childcare Committee. It is designed to give course participants knowledge and practical skills that will enable them to successfully include and support children with learning disabilities in local pre-schools.
