Accessible Spaces

Help us raise €100,000 to personalise and adapt living spaces so people we support can live independently, comfortably and with dignity.

A home is more than just a place to live; it should reflect the personality, needs and aspirations of the person who lives there.

While regular funding can cover the cost of purchasing and maintaining residential spaces and homes, there’s a critical gap in ensuring these spaces are tailored to fully support independence, accessibility and individuality.

Adaptations to suit each individual

In 2025, Brendan moved into his own fully refurbished apartmentwhere he lives with support from Kare for things like budgeting, grocery shopping, meal preparation and housekeeping.

Brendan is very proud of his home. He likes that he has his own space with a garden, and is close to the shops, pub and Newbridge Silverware where he has worked for many years.

With your support, we can continue to create spaces that truly meet people’s needs – places where they feel comfortable, secure and happy.

What we need

We need funding to make the following updates and improvements to our spaces:

  • Provide comfortable furniture and decorative touches to create a homely atmosphere.

  • Add sheds, planting and landscaping to turn outdoor areas into relaxing, therapeutic spaces.

  • Incorporate aesthetic improvements that make each space more inviting and personalised.

  • Design shared spaces that encourage connection, group activities and a sense of community among residents.

  • Ensure we can adapt and evolve spaces to meet the changing needs of those we support.
