Promoting Inclusion for People with Intellectual Disabilities
What is Home Sharing?
Home Sharing is a community-based programme than enables households to host a person with intellectual disabilities in their home.
With Home Sharing, people with disabilities have an opportunity to make connections, develop new interests and become more independent. It also gives full-time carers a break to relax and spend time with other family members or friends.
How does it work?
TYPES OF HOME SHARING
Short Break: Day care breaks, short overnight breaks or breaks during holiday periods.
Shared Living: Full-time care for a period of time, similar to foster care.
YOU WILL RECEIVE

Who can take part?
Home Sharers come from all walks of life. If you are willing and able to open your home and heart to a person who needs extra support, please get in touch.
All applicants are fully vetted, assessed and trained. Allowances are paid in line with Tusla fostering rates.
