Have your say on Ireland's disability strategy

In line with Kare’s central mission to promote inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, we invite you to have your say in the development of Ireland’s next National Disability Strategy.

The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth is currently leading the development of the next National Disability Strategy, which will be the successor to the National Disability Inclusion Strategy 2017–2022. Ireland ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) in 2018 and this new strategy will aim to progress its implementation.

A public consultation coordinated by the National Disability Authority is under way, seeking the insights, recommendations, and experiences of people with disabilities, families, carers and other disability stakeholders and organisations. This opportunity allows you to lend your voice to the development of a national strategy that truly reflects the needs and rights of our diverse community.

There are several ways to get involved, including written and video submissions and surveys.

Your contribution will help to create a future where every person has the opportunity to live their best life.
