We're asking local communities, businesses and individuals to participate in our new “Cuppa for Kare” campaign by hosting fundraising coffee mornings this October.
Kare provides supports and services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, and we have launched our ‘Cuppa for Kare’ campaign this week. The initiative aims to raise funds for Kare to expand and enhance the services we provide across our 40 locations.
Kare has been dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities in Kildare and surrounding areas for almost 60 years. Today, we support more than 550 individuals and their families with a range of services including day, residential, respite, outreach and employment support. Kare is also patron of St Anne’s and St Mark’s special schools and runs an early years pre-school in Newbridge.
“We’re asking community members, workplaces and groups to consider hosting a coffee morning in support of Kare,” said Deirdre Murphy, CEO of Kare. “Since 1967 Kare has always relied on the support of local community fundraising efforts. Cuppa for Kare is a great way for people to come together, enjoy a cuppa, and make a difference.
“Whether you gather friends and family at home, organise an event at your workplace, or host in a public space, every cup of tea or coffee shared helps our mission to promote inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities.”
Kare’s Fundraising Manager, Corrinne Concannon, explained how to get involved: “We’re extremely grateful for the fundraising efforts of our local communities and are delighted to support anyone hosting a Cuppa for Kare event. Signing up is simple – just visit www.kare.ie/cuppaforkare and register your details so we can send you a Welcome Pack with all the information and materials you need to start planning your event. We will also be running a special Cuppa for Kare raffle with some fantastic prizes to be won.”
