Valentine's Day Celebrations at Kare

There were lots Valentine's Day events across Kare last week in celebration of love and connection.

A joyful lunchtime gathering in Kare’s McMahon Centre in Kilcullen brought together service users and staff for delicious food, meeting new people and catch-up chats, as well as some music, dancing and a photobooth.

Organised by Jacinta Law and Alison Farrell with help from many others in decorating and preparing food, it was a special opportunity for people from all areas of the McMahon Centre to come together and mark the occasion.

In Kare’s Tully Road service in Kildare Town, service users and staff got creative with a Valentine's Day-themed craft and baking session, making heart-shaped red velvet brownies, rocky road bars and cookies. Service users could spread the love by bringing the handmade treats home to share.

On the Tully Road ‘self-care action calendar’ they chose to "lift people up rather than put them down", creating a love heart and decorating it with positive affirmations for one another.

A calming and therapeutic day of activities, which provided space for relaxation, positive emotions and a sense of accomplishment.
